Around age 26, he decided that he would do one more courier job. He wanted to be seen as a hero like his father.
He wanted to support the NCR military on the frontlines. Sitting in a desk in Baja was just not cutting it for him. While the pay was better in some cases, that was never the reason why Henry decided to go independent. Doing freelance never felt as good for him compared to being an NCR soldier. Henry would, for the next few years, do various odd-jobs varying from courier work and caravan guard jobs. So as soon as it was time re-enlist, he took his papers and walked. He felt that his potential was being wasted. Henry felt unsatisfied with his current lot in life. By this time, his sisters had become very successful entrepreneurs in the alcohol industry, and his parents were reaping the benefits of their labor through retirement. One year later, Henry was assigned an office post in Baja. This rejection flattened Henry’s ego and made him develop a superiority complex. However, he was rejected due to not being “mentally sound”. Around age 21, Henry signed up for a shot at becoming a ranger, as he always dreamt of becoming one. He gained high marks for his Strength, endurance, and determination. When he was 18, he officially enrolled in the NCR military and was sent out on the field. This sort of teaching had made Henry develop a very compliant and loyalist mindset towards the NCR. Henry’s parents taught him to never question his nation’s interests, as they said that the people running it had everything under control. His father’s teachings stuck with him hard. Henry looked up to his father as an example of a proper NCR patriot - idolized him, even. He was far more interested in seeing the next skirmish between a band of raiders and NCR troopers. However, unlike his sisters, Henry never took a great interest in higher education he sort of just did what he was told. Henry and his sisters were given homeschooling services by some of the best tutors money could hire. Henry grew up living place to place, as he and his family had to relocate to different military bases every couple of months.
He has two older sisters - Bella and Tara Silverman. Rosanne Silverman was a wealthy, brahmin baron’s daughter who was more of a housewife. Peter Silverman was a decorated NCR war hero who fought in several operations against the Jackals and Vipers and four tours in the NCR-BoS War.
